Nationally recognized health IT leader and Principal at StarBridge Advisors providing consulting, coaching and interim management. Recently served as interim Chief Information Officer at Stony Brook Medicine on Long Island. Prior to starting StarBridge Advisors with colleagues David Muntz and Russ Rudish, was a founding advisor at Next Wave Health Advisors. In 2016, served as interim Chief Information Officer at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Previous CIO roles include University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
As an active member of both HIMSS and CHIME, served on the CHIME Board from 2004 to 2006. Responsible for their Advocacy initiatives focusing on the national healthcare information technology agenda and fostering CHIME’s partnerships with other national organizations. From 2007 to 2009, chaired the newly formed CHIME Education Foundation Board which raises funds for scholarships to help develop the next generation of health IT leaders. Fellow status with both CHIME and HIMSS. Currently serving on AAMI board and executive committee. Recent service on CHIME Policy Steering Committee, Great Lakes Health Connect board and executive committee, and MiHIN board. Regular speaker and writer within the HIT industry including a weekly blog called “Health IT Connect”.
