As vice president, Sabina Zak drives the development, integration and administration of Northwell Health’s community health and health service resources. She oversees all community health-related policies, services and programs, financial and strategic planning activities. Ms. Zak has a wealth of experience in health care, including contract negotiations with physicians, union contracts, managed care companies and external vendors. She joined Northwell after serving as chief operating officer and chief affiliation officer of the Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) for eight years. PAGNY is a nonprofit multispecialty physician group serving NYC Health + Hospitals. In this role, she implemented standardized policies and procedures, collaborated with community health care organizations and hospital staff, and oversaw day-to-day operations, revenue cycle, and patient quality and safety initiatives. Previously, Ms. Zak was associate executive director at Coney Island Hospital, where she had administrative oversight of surgical services, operating room, anesthesia and respiratory services. She began her career in health care as the chief physician assistant and bariatric surgery administrator at Coney Island Hospital. Ms. Zak holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brooklyn College. She also completed Touro College’s Physician Assistant Program, as well as health care reimbursements/payments and documentation/coding training.
